Flashing Lights

 < Back to Eye Examination

Flashes are usually a sign of electrical activity from the retina or the brain. Most spots are normal, but they can indicate a more serious problem. If you notice a sudden shower of dots in one eye, you should make an urgent appointment with us for an eye examination to determine the cause. We will dilate your pupils, so if you are a driver, make sure somebody else drives you home. If you are a contact lens wearer, take your glasses along too.
